in sights, Coach Bruttomesso urged his players to focus on possession
of the ball and structure moving up & down the field. The Sharks
started the game fairly well, dominating possession early in
the game, and creating many chances on goal with Kennett and
Kasole, not too far from the mark, forcing the panthers keeper
to be alert from the waves of attack from the Sharks. (25min)
Brooks was unlucky not to put the first score on the board,
when a lose ball fell his way, he took a chance by smashing
the ball towards goal, which looked like it was going in , until
it deflected off a Panthers defender and over the line for a
corner kick. (27min) The Sharks score their first goal from
a corner taken by Pilven, who cleverly placed a low and hard
ball towards the front post, the ball deflected off a panther’s
defender and into goal. Score 1-0 (37min) Another corner taken
by Pilven found an unmarked Kasole on the penalty spot, who
flew high to score a well executed header into the far right
hand side of the goal. Score 2-0 Half Time Coach Bruttomesso
was happy with the display of passing and possession game the
Sharks were playing, against a much improved Panthers side.
The second half was much the same as the first, plenty of opportunities
for the Sharks, but could not find the back of the net. (78min)
Kasole scores his second goal, when midfielder Widdison sends
an accurate throughball, splitting the Panthers defence and
allowing Kasole to run onto and slot past the keeper in a one-on-one
confrontation. With a 3-0 lead, Coach Bruttomesso made some
substitutions bringing off Tralongo & Bope for a rest allowing
U17 Players Brad Lamont & Dylan Kennett to gain more time in
the Senior A Grade competition. The game finished 3-0 win to
the Sharks. Next week there is no games played in the WBSA,
as the SAJSA Junior State Country Championships are held in
