Welcome to Western Border soccer Season 2011. Firstly I would like
to thank all of last year’s board members for their endless work and
efforts and Ben Wilkinson for being patron in 2009 and 2010 seasons.
As a new board we will endeavour to always do our best and always
put soccer and the Western Border Soccer association fist. I would
like to welcome all the new board members, Brian McCormick, senior
sports director, Trevor Morony, fiancial director, Donna Hamlyn, sponsorship
and marketing director and Eddie Sakkers as competition director.
Also thank you to Rose Cooper, secretary, and Warren McCallum, junior
sports director, for continuing into their second year. Congratulations
to Bob Sandow on becoming our new Patron. Bob brings knowledge and
experience to the new board, which we will all benefit from.
To all clubs and individual winners of the 2010 season, I congratulate
you. Lets all work together to maintain or even increase the standard
of soccer in Western Border for a successful 2011 season. I welcome
all new coaches and players to Western Border, and we all look forward
to watching the select Western Border teams competing in Adelaide
and Broken Hill for State and Country Championships. Represent your
association with pride and enjoy the experience.

Premiership Shield. 2010 saw the beginning of development for junior
soccer in Western Border with the New Talent Identifi cation Academy.
I would like to thank all who helped to bring the academy together.
The highlight of the academy was the visit to Hindmarsh Stadium to
watch Adelaide United play with the players participating as ball
boys and mascots. Lets all work together to make 2011 a season to
remember for all the right reasons and continue to keep up the good
work from 2010.
